I’ve had dark under eyes since the ripe age of five. And in fifth grade, after a teacher asked me for the hundredth time if I was getting enough sleep, I stole my mom’s drugstore anti-aging concealer and never looked back. In college–when I really wasn’t getting enough sleep–I began my quest for the perfect under-eye product. I wanted a natural look, all-day wear, and something that felt good on my skin. Since then, I’ve tried dozens of serums, creams, and concealers. Some were okay, but most left me feeling oily, cakey, creased, or underwhelmed. And I never quite found the holy grail product. Until TikTok introduced me to Colleen Rothschild’s Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream—could this be the one? I put it to the test, here are my thoughts.

About my skin
I have sensitive, combination, and acne-prone skin (every girl’s dream, I know). No makeup artist, beauty counter employee, or chronically online friend has been able to pinpoint my undertones, so I’ve always landed on neutral. Is that accurate? I have no idea. And the skin around my eyes is thin, nearly translucent, and very sensitive to products and makeup. That area specifically tends to get patchy and dry in the winter and oily in the summer. Therefore, my standards are very high.
About the Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream
What differentiates Colleen Rothschild’s eye cream from the dozens of other products I’ve tried is that it’s a hydrating eye cream that neutralizes darkness—not a concealer that only makes my skin end up looking darker, dryer, or more tired once I take it off. Made with hyaluronic acid and caffeine, the Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream was designed to tackle common under-eye concerns like darkness, fine lines, and puffiness. It’s lightweight enough to wear under makeup or on its own. Plus, its pearlized pigments create a subtle shimmer to brighten the skin, and its peach pigments are set to neutralize those stubborn blue undertones that make your under eyes appear dark.

The verdict
I’m the type of person who would fail the Stanford Marshmallow Experiment every time, so I opened the eye cream the second it arrived on my doorstep. It was late afternoon, and I washed and dried my face with my tried and true beauty product pessimism. You can skip the brushes and sponges, this is a hands on product, literally. After doing some research (scrolling through TikTok), I found that it’s best to apply with your finger and to start with a very small amount. I carefully applied the product as I’d seen a dozen influencers do before me. And I immediately perked up.
It took clean skin, a pea-sized amount of this peach-tinted eye cream, and a few taps of my finger to fade away nearly 25 years of “Are you feeling OK?” comments from family, friends, and employers. Don’t get me wrong, it doesn’t have the full coverage of a concealer. But once it melts into the skin, it gives me that perfectly refreshed, model-off-duty glow I’ve searched for my whole life. And it acts and feels like luxury skincare.
“It took a pea-sized amount of this eye cream and a few taps of my finger to fade away nearly 25 years of ‘Are you feeling OK?’ comments from family, friends, and employers.”
This Illuminating Tinted Eye Cream is now one of the few products that I carry on me at all time. I’ve introduced it to friends and family of all ages and skin types. And when I’m packing only the essentials for a weekend trip or a day away, it always makes the cut. It’s that your-skin-but-better product I’ve been searching for since I was a preteen.

The price
I’ve probably spent hundreds on concealers, serums, and creams (I’m not doing the math). I’ve considered botox, and I’ve bought a lot of weird gadgets. So, while this $48 eye cream isn’t drugstore cheap, it’s surprisingly affordable—and if you use code EVERYGIRL20, it’s less than $40. Not only does it cut the tubes of concealer I have to buy to nearly zero, but it also requires such a minimal amount of product that I’m confident it will reach its 12-month expiration date by the time I’m done with this tube. Personally, less than 50 bucks per year on an under-eye product that WORKS is a no-brainer.

Other Colleen Rothschild products we’re loving RN
While I’m obviously a strong supporter of the tinted eye cream, other members of The Everygirl Team have more favorites from Colleen Rothschild. Here are the holy grail products that have become essential to our routines.
Colleen Rothschild Radiant Cleansing Balm
“I totally get why this product went viral—it does exactly what it promises. It completely removes every trace of makeup without needing water; just a damp towel does the trick. The texture is like raw shea butter: thick and buttery, and you don’t need to use much to get skin-softening results. I can tell it really works because when I follow it up with a peel pad, there’s hardly any makeup left.”

Colleen Rothschild Glycolic Acid Peel Pads
“The peel pads left my skin smoother and brighter right away. The smell is soothing–likely because of the blue agave–and the pads are thin, soft, and smooth. My face felt clean and refreshed from makeup, oil, etc. And I like that it still felt hydrating as an exfoliant and didn’t feel like it was stripping my skin. Plus, I feel like my fine lines were slightly less noticeable after use.”

Colleen Rothschild Face Oil N°9
“I can’t stop using this product! I’m picky about oils because I use them on their own, on top of moisturizer for extra hydration, and for facial massages. I want one that doesn’t feel sticky or heavy and doesn’t make my other products pill. This one is perfect. It leaves my skin moisturized and glowing, which is why I’m obsessed. I find myself reaching for it multiple times a day because I love it so much. Plus, it absorbs into my skin beautifully instead of just sitting on top.”

Colleen Rothschild Extreme Recovery Cream
“With the introduction of Face Oil No 9 and extreme recovery cream, I have been able to successfully introduce harsher retinols back into my PM routine without issue. I love the scent of the extreme recovery cream as well as the texture. It packs the deeply hydrating punch with a lighter, whipped texture and light but luxurious scent. My husband and my little boys have told me I smell really nice after using it, which is a big compliment coming from them! ”

Colleen Rothschild Bio-Azure Replenishing Oil
“I’ve been using the Extreme Recovery Cream and Bio-Azure Replenishing Oil together at night, and the results are amazing. By morning, my skin feels SO hydrated and supple. The oil has an interesting scent that took me a minute to get used to, but my friend said it reminded her of a spa we visited, and I’ve been sold ever since.”
– Maddi Goodwin, Account Manager
Colleen Rothschild Quench & Shine Restorative Hair Mask
“In total transparency, I judge products on efficiency but also on aesthetics. The Quench & Shine Restorative Hair Mask surprised me in all the right ways. It makes my hair incredibly soft, and the large size is a great value. But my favorite part? It smells amazing—like what I imagine the inside of a Chanel store smells like (can’t confirm).”
